For the first time in Santos Tour Down Under history, the City of Prospect played host to the Stage One Start from Prospect to Clare on Tuesday 17 January. The only UCI WorldTour race in the southern hemisphere, the Santos Tour Down Under attracts hundreds of thousands of fans from across Australia and around the world to Adelaide each January, placing Prospect on the international map.
The heat did not deter as many turned out for the festivities along Prospect Road. Race goers were able to enjoy entertainment, fine food, bike demonstrations and a free concert.
What was particularly special was watching young cyclists participate in the Loopy Prospect children's ride at the Monday evening Street Party. You never know - they may be the Tour Down Under champions of the future.
